Twenty Seven Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology by Anand Pathak
Nakshatras are constellations of stars. Nakshatras are unique to Vedic astrology. The placement of Moon in birth Nakshatra determines which dasa the native will get in his life. For matching any horoscope for compatibility purposes in Vedic astrology emphasis is given to the Nakshatra placement of Moon for both bride and the bridegroom. Nakshatra has always baffled me because placement of planets in each Nakshatra can give varying effects in the life of natives. Sometimes it helps to see the Nakshatra placement of the planet to understand the intricacies of predictive astrology.
Nakshatra is the subdivision of the zodiac signs. The entire zodiac is divided into twelve signs. These signs are further divided into twenty-seven nakshatras. Each nakshatra is assigned its own symbols, deity, planetary owner, energy etc. Every individual Nakshatra is further divided into four padas. Therefore, the entire zodiac is divided into 108 distinct sections.
The parent zodiac sign of Nakshatras have a lot of qualities in them. The lord of the zodiac sign plays an important role in determining the nature of a Nakshatra. Role of the deity of the Nakshatra is also important to determine the nature of the natives of the Nakshatra.
The transit of planets in different Nakshatra plays an important role in the lives of natives. This transit also affects geopolitical issues in the world. It brings tremendous changes in the lives of the people in the world. For example, the Solar eclipse in December 2019 in Moola Nakshatra with six planets joining together triggered Coronavirus epidemic. The transit of Rahu in Rohini Nakshatra triggered a second wave of Coronavirus. If we delve into the history of mankind, we will find out that transits of planets in various Nakshatras impacted the world in many ways, like wars, floods, cyclones or famines. For understanding the intricacies of astrology in-depth, understanding of Nakshatras is an absolute necessity.
